Today marks the pinnacle of our adventure—the day we reach Uhuru Peak, the Roof of Africa! Departing around midnight, we’ll traverse through the night, following challenging switchbacks and rocky paths amid the dazzling starry sky. The journey takes us past the majestic Ratzel and Rebmann glaciers until we arrive at Stella Point (18,851ft), where we will take a moment to regroup and appreciate our surroundings.
After this rest, we will continue along the crater rim for another hour to OUR ultimate destination—Uhuru Peak! Celebrate your remarkable achievement as you stand at the highest point in Africa, surrounded by breathtaking views.
The weather will dictate our time spent at the summit before descending back to Barafu Camp. After a short rest and gathering our gear, we’ll begin our descent to Millennium Camp (12,600ft), where a scrumptious dinner and well-deserved sleep await us.
